Introduction And Aims
The Association of Corporate and Industrial Security Management Professionals of Kenya (ACISMP-K) is an independent body established in 2016 to promote a proper understanding of security and professionalism in the security business. This is underpinned by the objective of raising the profile of the security profession and those who practice in it, in the eyes of those who come into contact with it. The ACISMP (K) membership must hold the highest possible standards in both the public and private sectors. The ACISMP (K) provides a powerful voice for security professionals and ensures that their needs are recognised by employers, HR professionals, the Government and the wider security profession.
Eligibility
In line with these aims, ACISMP (K) welcomes applications for membership from professional security practitioners. These include those in the business of security, as well as security managers of commercial and industrial businesses, members of public bodies, police forces, armed forces etc. Those aspiring to reach management positions through study and/or personal development, or whose core business is closely aligned to that of a security practioner, may also be eligible for membership. Membership Categories
Open to graduate, undergraduate and diploma college and university students who have an interest in Security. Diploma students must be enrolled in at least twelve semester hours (or equivalent), undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least nine semester hours (or equivalent) and graduate students must be enrolled in at least six semester hours (or equivalent) at an accredited college or university. Enrollment is subject to verification each year.
Open to individuals who are gainfully employed full-time in the field of security in corporate and industrial setting and for whom security is their primary means of employment.
Open to individuals who are gainfully employed full time in the field of security but have not attained qualification to join professional membership. This includes serving government security professionals i.e. military officers, police officers etc.
Open to corporate organizations with interests in security.

Existing members wishing to apply for upgrade to any higher membership category other than corporate membership should complete the designated Upgrade Form which is available for download on the ACISMP (K) website. Please refer to the detailed guidance provided in paragraph 3 and 4 above in relation to qualifications, experience, training and professional commitment. Please return the application form together with:
Copies of academic certificates (if applicable)
Any additional supporting documents.

NOTE: Existing membership categories will remain in place until the outcome of upgrade is known. Replacement certificates and membership cards will be issued as appropriate.
